Step 1 (Phase Split): Add Olivem 1000 to your oil phase. It melts completely at around 65°C – 75°C (149°F – 167°F).
Step 2 (Heating): Heat both your oil phase and water phase separately to approximately 70°C – 75°C.
Step 3 (Emulsification): Combine the two phases. Pour the oil phase into the water phase (or vice versa) while agitating with a high-shear homogenizer for 2-3 minutes.
Step 4 (Cooling Down): Switch to paddle/slow stirring as the mixture cools. Add your heat-sensitive active ingredients, preservatives, and fragrances below 40°C.
Note: Final viscosity will fully develop over 24 to 48 hours.
